Last night was historic. I was that little girl, watching an icon. Something I’ve waited for in my almost 29 years of life and The Golden Globes has waited for 75 years. The first black woman to be awarded the most prestigious Globes honor spoke from the heart last night, punching one more crack into that glass ceiling that says you're not good enough, you're not worthy, you don't deserve this.
Her message was this. We've spent far too long allowing other people to tell our stories. We must now tell our own and empower the women around us to do the same. We must raise our voices for those that have been silenced.
If last night lit a fire for you, then go forth and burn bright. We need your light, your brilliance, your genius to lead us into the dawn.

“I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon! And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say "Me too" again.” - @oprah
