Today's talk: crickets! 🦗🐈
Whether freeze dried or live, crickets can benefit YOUR cat!
Did you know? ...Because of human overpopulation (and therefore, less space for cattle and other livestock), these little creatures are being looked into as a protein source for humans, animals, and pets in the future! 🦗 Broken down they contain 70% moisture with 65% of them being protein and 10.3% fat (feline-nutrition.org).
Feeding live crickets can also provide not only physical, but the mental stimulation house cats lack; they are able to act out their true instinct of catch, kill, and eat. 🐀😾
As for ethics - Cats already catch flies, mice, and other "pests" indoors. Outside, they would easily catch crickets like their ancestors did 🦁 Pet reptiles are given them as an essential part of their diet, just like cats can be given crickets as a wonderful raw supplement!😉
