Eat first and worry about the calories later β€” this Maxi (S$8.9 for 3 flavors) is made of Cuor Di Cacao, Cremino Venchi and Pistachio. Love the former two which are the milk-based 75% dark chocolate and hazelnut chocolate respectively that were so smooth and rich while the latter pistachio was slightly too sweet for my liking.

Peony Jade at Clarke Quay is introducing a brand new Red Hot Chilli Crabbers 5 course set lunch priced at $138.80++/2 pax (minimum 2 to dine), available daily. For the crab course, you can choose from Chilli, Black Pepper or White Pepper.

While I usually go for chilli crabs, the white pepper crabs at Peony Jade gets my vote! It is creamy, milky, peppery and what I liked was the bits of crab roe that is in the sauce too! Apart from just being peppery, I could taste the crustacean flavor which adds sweetness to it. I also enjoyed the the quality of crab that is used with the thick and fleshy crab meat within those sturdy shells.

My favorite was the Tea Smoked Soft Yolk Egg topped with fish roes and micro herbs at Lime at Parkroyal on Pickering. One bite into it and I knew that one-half was definitely not enough!

@southunionpark prides itself in making most of its ingredients from scratch, and we could easily tell when we tried the dishes.

Take for example the SUPer Breakfast ($15), the house muffin, sausage patties and tater tots are all freshly made in-house. The tater tots are one of the most amazing ones I've had β€” the creamy smooth potatoes on the inside with a perfect ring of crispy skin on the outside. It took Chef @terence_chuah quite awhile to perfect it and I absolutely loved the end product!

The breakfast menu is now available on weekends from 0900-1200 (last order at 1145)!

@opendoorpolicysg introduces its gluten and dairy free menu items and one of my favorite is the Spaghetti Alle Vongole ($28). The pasta is freshly made using rice flour and it's absolutely springy! Each strand is well coated with the Japanese white miso sauce that is further enhanced with the sweetness from the clams.

Southern fried chicken ($45 β€” good for 2 pax) that is brined for 27 hours before being fried to a golden brown with spices and served with a cheddar cheese waffles. The accompanying hot honey sauce pairs well with the former, while the bourbon maple syrup works with the latter. I'd return for the fried chicken as the chicken and waffles combination was too heavy for me. Thankfully, the chilled spiced watermelon helped to balance it out.

The Niku Sushi Mori ($25.9) came with the wagyu rump, wagyu toro, wagyu tataki and chicken breast sushi. The chicken breast was very dry while the wagyu beef was on the tough side. Definitely not a fan of these raw wagyu beef ☹️
