There are lots of gimmicky street food stalls in Myeongdong but this stole my heart upon first sight — Spicy Fishcake (KRW2,000). These odeng are usually cooked in a clear broth by toppoki stalls and the hot soup is extra comforting in cold weather. This is the first time I've seen it in a spicy broth. Hot and spicy, just the way I like it! ❤️

Getting a daybed at Finn's requires a minimum spending of RP500k (similar to other beach clubs) but that's not a problem because we could easily spend half a day here with their drinks and snacks — such as this Beer Battered Onion Rings (RP65k) with burnt chilli dressing & Balinese acacia honey. We were also on the wait list for about half an hour before we moved to the first row day bed where we could easily access the pool!

Torched pineapples always appeal to me and this Pineapple Brûlée ($10) is served with yoghurt, tea infused honey and candied walnuts. While the pineapples were extremely juicy, I would have very much preferred more torched golden brown surface to bring out the charred taste.

Double Cartilage with Fish Maw that is served with bamboo pith, goji berry and some vegetables but the star of the show is that soup broth — so rich, creamy and comforting after 7 to 8 hours of work over constant fire. Artisanal Cheese Platter ($30/2pax or $50/4pax) with burrata, goat's cheese and blue cheese. I'm usually not a fan of the latter, but these served at @drinksandcosg proved to be smooth and creamy enough, especially when paired with the apricots to keep the pungent taste more acceptable.

Homemade Scialatielli ($28) with strands of pasta noodles similar to spaghetti but thicker. I love the texture of the pasta as our teeth sink into them and this is tossed with some rich black truffle pesto cream sauce that is pretty addictive. Served in a Cacio cheese bowl, it's recommended to scrap off the inner side of the bowl to enjoy the maximum cheesiness!

You will definitely find something to your liking and mine was the Stir Fried Crab with Asian Spices — dried shrimps, ginger, garlic, onion, curry leaves and chilli padi. With the myriad of ingredients used, it was extremely fragrant with a hint of spicy-ness. So finger licking good!

This just changed the whole pork knuckle game to me entirely — an incredibly crispy skin with tons of tender meat beneath it. Beautifully marinated in a Bavarian spice blend, it is then coated with Paulaner beer for a satisfying treat ($31.9). It comes with the sauerkraut to balance out the richness and a freshly made bread dumpling that displays the skill of the chefs.

Nashville Hot Chicken ($16.5/2pcs - with choice of 2 sides) that uses a larger than normal sized bird with that gigantic drumstick! I love that spice rub on the chicken and fried to a golden brown while the meat remained tender and extremely juicy. A downside was that the sides (I had the Mac & Cheese and Biscuits & Gravy) were too heavy tasting which got me struggling to finish especially with the large fried chicken. It would be nice to have a lighter side such as a salad to freshen up this sinful plate!

An amazing Duck Rillette ($11.5/100g, pictured 100g) — shredded duck meat made creamy with those duck fats that is simply enjoyed as a spread over baguette. Those cornichons can help to cut through some of its richness too!

Thought the Singaporean-Style Fried Bee Hoon ($38) sounded interesting on the menu and wondered how Cook and Brew would interpret it. Turns out, the lobster was the only saving grace with the rather plump and sweet tasting meat. As for the other components, I can probably have them elsewhere!

Another steamboat concept by the Paradise Group, but this features single pax hotpot with ingredients that are largely similar to the ones at Beauty in a Pot (no collagen soup here though). We had the Tomato Sweet Corn ($4) and Mala ($5) soup but the clear broth is used for refills and given the small pot size, it will definitely water down the soup.

We went for our favorites such as the Ebiko Prawn Paste ($12), Black Kurobuta Pork ($9.5/half), Fried Beancurd Skin ($4.9/half) and Sweet Corn ($3.9/half). Good thing is, Paradise Hotpot has 30% off all ingredients before 2.30pm and 40% off from 2.31pm to 4.30pm every single day — even on weekends and PH!

On a side note, it took pretty long for my soup to come to a boil so do ask for the lid to speed up the process!

Having a bak kut teh can also be nutritious with sea cucumber ($17.5/$18 set meal with a small dish for a limited time only) added in it. The peppery soup base is made from hours of careful boiling with pork bones to create a comforting broth!

Beautiful pan seared scallops and prawns (part of omakase priced at $90) that is cooked till meat is sweet and juicy. The entire omakase was decent but a tad oily seeing how much butter they used!
