@Regranned from @dr.jess.md - So your adrenal glands are the glands responsible for churning out stress hormones like DHEA, cortisol & epinephrine, better known as adrenaline. This is great in evolutionary times when you had to run from saber tooth tigers; your adrenals increase glucose levels to prepare you to run and churn out adrenaline so you have the power to get away. But what about in today's world?
If we are constantly stressed, the hypothalamus-pituitary axis that controls the adrenals are forced to produce more and more cortisol. This "steals" from pregnenolone & causes disturbances in all the sex hormones including DHEA, testosterone, estrogen & progesterone! This is a huge cause of infertility along with hormone disruptors in food, water & household products. Your body loves you & wants to help you, so why would your body add more stress to your life with a baby? This is why many couples have their own baby after they adopt, the stress of conceiving is relieved!
If you get dizzy when you get up from lying supine, get "hangry" or irritable if you skip meals, have low blood pressure, are exhausted in the mornings, have blurry vision, sweat easily, or crave salt, you likely have hypothalamus-pituitary axis issues or adrenal fatigue! What can you do? .
