Managed to get some sewing done today whilst Baby B was asleep and T was at Granny's! Felt like heaven! .
Also gave me chance to catch up and watch some more of the Environmental Audit Committee 'Sustainability in the Fashion Industry' inquiry from Tuesday at @vamuseum I'm about two thirds of the way through and has been some great discussion so far. @phoebeenglish spoke about the processes of a fashion company and the huge waste produced on the cutting table. Asking what can be done with this wasted fabric? Claire Hieatt from the Welsh jeans producer @hiutdenim famously worn by sustainable fashion supporter Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, highlighted the advantages of bringing the manufacturing of fashion garments back to the UK. Clare Bergkamp, Sustainability and Innovation Director @stellamccartney discussed eco materials, including tencel, in particular being able to work with the raw material producers to ensure environmentally and ethically produced fashion items throughout the supply chain. When asked whether a tshirt could be produced sustainable for £5.99 @dilys.williams was in no doubt...NO!
