Plans today...absolutely nothing. Had one of the craziest weeks this past week and now I get to chill knowing I gave my all. Exhausted and nervously excited for the coming week! PC: @don_huynh

Best day ever @tough_mudder!! Such a fun and active way to spend the day. From running up ski hills, crawling in the mud, and climbing up walls, it was definitely a crazy good workout.

Vacations for me are a fun opportunity to mix it up! The park here was closed for renovations last year, so I'm pumped to see it open now! @stevejohnson18, @jnstitz and I used the pull-up and monkey bars to finish a 20 minute AMRAP (as many round as possible) of 5 strict pull-ups, 10 push-ups, and 15 air squats. Thankfully, @wawa is right next door. Protein shakes, coffee, and sports drinks for our post workout recovery walk back to the houseπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Sorry for 3 photos of me πŸ™ˆ but I was feeling particularly lean bean this weekend πŸ‘ΈπŸΌ my body never ceases to amaze me, it seems to 'tighten' up when I least expect it - not so much now after an all you can eat buffet and a BBQ πŸ— today but that's life! You can't look lean all the time but then again if you put the effort in you won't look 'puffy' always either. I've kept my water intake high and meal prepped for the week ahead so I already feel ready to take on the week πŸ’ͺ🏼
Going to get another body composition test in a couple of weeks to track where I am πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

d6 | wk 1 Abs + Cardio
Fell behind this week. (Longggg post.) I was dealing with huge amounts of emotional stress from work and from life this past week. I'm not making excuses, I want to be honest with myself about the patterns in my life that are holding me back from my goals. I also feel very supported in this space, and reading other's challenges has made me realize that I'm not uniquely weak or prone to failure, that everyone has their obstacles, and that's so totally human 😌

I let someone at work's negative opinion and disrespectful actions cut me to the core. The anger. The heart break. The injustice of it all. And then, my Dad had neurosurgery. It was successful and he is happily recovering. Talk about a wake up call and an emotional rollercoaster. .

.
This person at work is not important. I kick ass at my job every damn day, and that's not going to change. My health is important. My friends and family are important. I love my job but in general I put too much pressure on it being the center of my happiness and the source of my self worth. What I put myself through last week was exhausting and unnecessary. .

SO! I acknowledge it. I bow to it. I learn from it. Patterns are difficult to break, but I'll keep working at it. I WILL ACHIEVE MY GOALS. Feeling very thankful to the #FBGcommunity because even in 3 short weeks I've already gained confidence and learned to be better about cheat meals and not over stuffing myself.
I gave myself a mini challenge this weekend of not doing my workouts.... It needs to be ok to miss a day or two so even though I'm staying active through this weekend (swimming, walking, playing tennis) I'm not going to obsess over making sure I get other work outs in because enjoying my life is more important
Also: gotta love posing plus good angles (my waist is not actually that tiny)

I am 5 lbs heavier than I was at my peak fitness level. I think I threw out my hip. I don't have energy or time every day to workout. I feel flabby. I don't eat properly. I don't drink enough water. But I worked out today. And I will workout tomorrow. And maybe I'll have to skip a day or two. But I will come back and I will keep going. Because something is better than nothing and something gets you a step closer to habit than nothing ever will. I am not perfect.
