I just finished my first real workout in 6 weeks! I have been going through some injury/illness/life stuff but I'm moving forward now. I have a ways to go to feel like myself again but I'm happy to be moving the right direction. While I'm getting back into the swing of things, I will not beat myself up for the workouts I missed, or judge myself for the bodily changes inactivity inevitably brings. It's no big thing; I just dust myself off and jump back in - even if that means modifying exercises and intensity, or going slowly when I need to. It won't help to rush anything and in the end, the only goal I really have my eye on is good health. So, cheers to that!

Injury, illness, LIFE happens. How you handle these things makes all the difference. And that doesn't necessarily mean charging forward more intensely; it can also mean slowing down and letting yourself heal. Listen to your body! .

So this was my first workout since Thursday‼️ I skipped four days, which is a lot for me. Three of those days I was housesitting. And three of those days I also had plans with other people.
I tried not to beat myself up over it but I couldn't help the negative thoughts today. Somehow my brain convinces me I gained SO much weight in those four days and I am suddenly out of shape. But really, is that even possible? I don't think so. (Scientists, correct me here if I'm wrong.)
Regardless, I showed up today and that's what matters! 👊🏻💪🏻

Second workout of the day is a quick 10 minute lower body with #fitnessblender #fbburn . I'm wearing my new socks from #bombassocks and these are my second pair from them and holy comfy!!! I love collecting socks but actually hate wearing them, I haven't taken these off since noon!!! Super comfy and perfect for working out! Plus for every pair you buy they donate a pair!!

It's not #facetofacefriday but this is a non-traditional face to face anyway. I actually weigh almost the exact same in both of these photos (both are approx 190). The one on the left was taken 4 years ago when I had lost weight using mostly cardio. The one on the right was a few weeks ago now that I have lost weight doing lots of weights and HIIT. It is amazing how much more toned I am now. I really see it in my face and neck. I did not do a body comp test back then but think I am carrying about 10-15 pounds more lean muscle now then I was then and I am in much better shape in both strength and cardio.

Feeling bloated and gross since I haven't been able to workout hardcore like I'm used to BUT I'm still getting it in! House guests are NOT an excuse! I'm trying to eat right and get my water in especially with it super humid! My core is looking pretty good. I've decided to try and do a virtual 5k this year (my first 5k anything ) it's a massive goal for me! Gonna start training for it tonight...any tips?
