I was asked a few times today from various people about how heavy I lift.
That's such a hard question to answer, because "heavy" is relative. It depends on so many things. Sometimes the 20lb dumbells feel heavy and sometimes the 40lb dumbells feel light. A lot of that depends on my nutrition, sleep, stress and honestly, my mood.
I prefer to say i lift "appropriate" weight. Appropriate weight is whatever weight will cause the greatest challenge without sacrificing form.
Signs you are lifting appropriate weight:
☆After 10-15 reps your muscle feels like it is on fire🔥
☆trying to squeeze out a few more reps beyond that is very difficult, the reps are probably slower and you may need to pause between each rep momentarily😣
☆Your breathing will be labored 😥
☆Your face will not look pretty😲
☆You will make some sort of noise😆
☆You maintain good form💪
