The incredibly versatile coconut is my favourite ingredient. And the coconut sprout or as I like to call it; coconut truffle is the epitome of exotic. The basal node or the stalk tastes like the most clean, concentrated, pure, essence of coconut. The bulb with an intricate network of raised venation on it's surface has a more subtle and delicate flavour with a spongy, velvety texture and the lightness of spun wool. What I find most appealing is the funky, mildly acidic, musty umami aftertaste. Almost like sweet palm toddy.
I use coconut oil for almost everything because is one of the most versatile & healthiest substance on the planet "I SWEAR BY Coconut Oil" The unique medium chain fatty acids incoconut oil have anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties, and they also serve as antioxidants which protect your skin. So coconut oil is essentially food for your skin!#formulabotanica#favouriteingredient#formulation#Organic#organicbeauty

Spice swims heavily in the arteries of my history. It was the spice route that hailed the Cape of Good Hope as a port for Europe to access the East. From this an ugly story of colonialist genocide and slavery lives, a story that still echoes down our streets today. The bitter taste left in our mouths remedied only by our spices that brought them here... who brought us here.
