Meet the Maker Monday: these are a few of my favorite things.
I'm Rebecca - owner of the Concho Purl. I'm a graduate student studying Geology, and I work full time as the Analytical Lab Technician at Sul Ross State University. As a part of my job I spent my past weekend at the Alpine Gem and Mineral Show. There I educated visitors on petrographic thin sections, petrographic microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope, and other equipment available in my lab.
While I was there I picked up a few beauties. I LOVE ammonites, so I felt very fortunate to find the unique piece in the center. I'll be playing with these pieces as I learn to electroform this year! A big thanks to @texas_magpie and other vendors for adding to my collection. Can't wait until next year's show!
Oh sweet Tiger's Eye with your shimmering golden light! It is said that the energy of these particular stones stimulates the creative mind and is known as a stone of balance and harmony. As a talisman it is also thought to protect from the evil eye or negative forces. Such pretty, pretty stones!🌙💛💫
