April 13, 2016 was a day that changed my life...the day I was diagnosed with breast cancer! Looking back on, it has been quite the journey, at times I was scared to death others times I felt grateful and gratified. After being diagnosed I set out with two goals...1. kick cancers ass 2. become an even better version of myself through this #crazycancerjourney! I did kick cancers ass, and every day I become one step closer to being a better version of the woman I was prior to cancer. I have a completely different out look on life, and appreciate the little things so much more. The best advice I have ever received came at the start of my battle and it was simple...have a positive attitude! From that day forward it was all attitude, I could not control cancer, but I could control my outlook and make the best of it! #positiveattitude I sit here today, April 16, 2017, Easter Sunday...in the hospital I am reminded of how tough the past year has been. I can't help but contemplate how I have managed to have yet another hospital stay (complications from reconstruction and radiation...nothing to worry about!). In the end I have to emphasize that I am still #cancerfree and #killinit ...this is just a hiccup! To all those going through a similar struggle...you got this! Keep your head up, and keep laughing! This too shall pass!
