This morning I decided on a hash brown and drink over my healthy breakfast. One day before my treat day I decided to give up🙄I literally got dressed, left my apartment, went down the elevator and got in my car... all before I decided to get right back out and go make a better decision for myself. That McDonald's hash brown wouldn't have been satisfying for more than a few minutes. That soda or sugared down coffee would have made me drag the rest of the day. I know a hash brown and drink would have not ruined me🤷🏼‍♀️ But I made that healthy decision, I turned back and I didn't give up on myself.

🔻TRUTH ABOUT DETOX DIETS🔻

Detox diets are widely promoted as a healthy way to lose weight and cleanse your body. The truth, however, is that there is no quick fix. If you’ve spent past five years eating junk food, you can’t expect to be cleansed in few days or weeks. 🍏

What exactly is a detox diet? Even though there are many different detox diets, their ultimate goal is to cleanse the body from harmful substances, often called toxins, through a diet consisting of certain food. Detox diets are usually very restrictive and limited to only juices, teas, or other drinks. Therefore, if you are on detox diet, you are probably eating far less calories than your body needs to function properly. Yes, you will lose weight if you are not eating enough calories, but not in a healthy way. 🍵

There was investigation in 2009 (Voice of young science). They asked ten companies if they could prove their product’s efficiency. Not only that they couldn’t do so, but they couldn’t even name the “toxins” targeted in their products. - 🤔 Does the body even need detox? The short answer is no. Your organs are already doing a great job in removing harmful substances, and they don’t need help from detox diets. Moreover, toxicity is best addressed by a well-fed body, and not the one that is weakened by a diet. That said, detox diets are going to do more harm than good. 📈

To conclude, if you are having a healthy, balanced diet consisted of whole foods, you don’t need “detox” to begin with, nor you should feel bad for yourself if you eat processed food from time to time. Focus on eating nutritious food on a daily basis, because they are way tastier and way better for you, and you are not going to have to starve yourself. 🍕

🔥 Three Questions To Ask When You Aren’t Seeing Progress🔥

Listen, I need to teach you a COMMON mistake most people make with their nutrition plan that DETERS seeing results.

Most people change things TOO soon when it’s not their nutrition plan that’s not working.

Before you change anything you need to ask yourself these three questions first:

1️⃣Are you being consistent?
.
Staying on your plan Monday through Friday is great!
.
But if that’s followed by a weekend of excessive calories, alcohol, and not training normally, is it fair to really expect progress for the week?

I don’t think so.
.
Focus on consistency instead of perfection. .
No, it won’t always be perfect.
.
But the more consistent you can be, the faster you will see results.

2️⃣Are you being honest?
.
If you only track the “healthy” foods and ignore the “bad” foods you are doing yourself a disservice.
.
Be honest with yourself.
.
⚠️All change begins with awareness first.⚠️
.
Create awareness by truthfully logging your intake so you know the necessary changes that need to be made to create the results you desire.
.
3️⃣Are you being patient?
.
Listen, when you make a lifestyle change it takes TIME.
.
Don’t get frustrated if it’s only been a few weeks or even a few DAYS and you haven’t seen the progress you had hoped for.
.
If you are doing the above mentioned things, you ARE on the right path.
.
Sometimes progress takes longer than you had hoped for.
.
Especially if you have lost weight, and gained it back before, fat loss can be more difficult in the future.
.
That’s OK.
.
Stay consistent.
.
Keep doing the right things.
.
And then RESULTS WILL come.
.
Most people fail not because they lacked the knowledge to succeed.

But instead, they fail because they gave up right before they struck gold. 🔥🙌👊

There’s like a new transformation trend that says “this was me before: skinny and MISERABLE and now here’s me: HAPPY after gaining 20 pounds!!”⠀

Being thin or lean doesn’t mean you hate your life. If you can maintain that and actually feel good and happy, that’s great! It’s your choice to stay that way. ⠀

Also being overweight doesn’t mean you hate your life. You could still be healthy and active and confident! ⠀

My point: A physical transformation- in either direction- may or may not have any impact on your emotional and mental wellbeing. 😬 ⠀

I know what MY goals are, where I feel most comfortable, confident, balanced and free. It does involve losing fat, gaining muscle, and fitting into my small clothes, and there’s nothing wrong with that 😉

I heard about this new drink and I had to try it! 😆 This tropical-inspired ice tea is a combination of sweetened mango & dragon fruit flavours. It’s then poured over shaken ice and a couple of real dragon fruit pieces. Taste wise, it’s super duper sweet. 😳 The calories aren’t too bad considering it is under 100 however the sugar content is to watch out for! For a grande there is 19g of sugar, so if you like venti it can easily rack up. By far the prettiest iced tea I’ve seen though! 😍🍉🌺 -
