Fat bomb. Before you started the Keto life, those words probably struck fear into your heart. These days, though, they should excite you. Why? When you're fat adapted on a ketogenic diet and fat is your body's fuel source, one of these is like a little bomb of energy. They are always delicious, often taste like a cheat or a dessert, and they are packed full of healthy fats that will boost your energy and help keep you satiated. They are great for a midday slump when you need a boost. When made with whole food ingredients, they can be chalk full of great aminos, omegas, and nutrients at the same time for added bonus. They come in all forms, both sweet and savoury. Like anything, though, they should be enjoyed in moderation; one a day (if that) is usually plenty.
During my "keto bake day" yesterday (one day a week where I prepare a stash of grab'n'go keto fuel for the week), I made the cookie dough fat bombs pictured above. Two other favourites of mine are mock "peanut butter cup" style made with almond butter, or the mini cheesecakes I've posted before. What about you? What are your go to fat bomb recipes? Let's start a fat-bomb sharing party that we all can pull from! Aaaaand go: ⬇️
