When the weight of the world is on your shoulders!!! Rest in Peace Fatal Hussein.
I photographed Fatal's Album cover "In the Line of Fire" on Relativity Records.
I remember the day was High and Lows. He was a guy that will let off the greatest smile, but then I could tell his soul will sink again as his thoughts will drift towards everything that was going on. He was going to court the very next day and his mood was not all there. This picture speaks louder than words.
We shot everything in the studio, but the day outside was the most beautiful day. Deep dark blue sky and puffy white clouds, I thought it would be a great juxtaposition with what was going on in his mind and his mood. Almost like a heaven's gate.
I shot it with a Hassleblad and a Profoto Pack with a small soft box. Here's the tricky part: You have a bright day outside, super sunny and is dark indoors. So you must crank up the strobe to the highest power to match the intensity of the outside. This image has not been Photoshop. That's the real sky from that exact moment.
