This week I hosted my first fashion workshop for young girls @caiushouse and I had such a great time! A big thank you to #caiushouse for giving the opportunity to start something I have been willing to do for a very long time! This is a 4 weeks workshop which will lead to a Fashion Show on Saturday 20th May in York gardens in Battersea for Flagz Carnival Day as part of Wandsworth Arts Fringe During the 4 weeks I will explore with the girls how clothes are made, the different stages of creating a collection, how to style and how to put up a fashion show. We will create outfits using my Art of fashion wrapping techniques so the girls will have a great opportunity to express their creativity. The workshop is also aiming to raise awareness about ethical issues within the fashion industry and promote positive body image and self confidence. Starting this on #fashionrevolutionweek was perfect timing! I enjoyed this 1st session more then I even thought! We started this week with talking about how clothes and textiles are made and the girls were amazed to realise that materials to make clothes cone from so many different sources from natural to chemical. And we had great fun creating mood boards! Check their amazing work!
