Current mood as I daydream about vacation, which is less than three weeks away. Thanks, @lizaherz for gently urging me to watch 'A Bigger Splash,' so I could see Tilda Swinton's too-chic-to-handle wardrobe and cool insouciance in action.
"Chungking Express" is the quintessential film about loneliness in the postmodern metropolis, in contemporary Hong Kong, as characters brush against one another throughout the daily rush but struggle to connect. The film took off when they shot the first scene with Brigitte Lin putting on a blonde wig. She was going to put on a role. One night it was going to be Gloria, said director Wong Kar Wai. Brigitte Lin's character is his tribute to John Cassavetes' Gloria (so beautifully played by Gena Rowlands). Today on Classiq. #chungkingexpress#brigittelin#wongkarwai#fashioninfilm
