Just thought I'd share my prayer for #harvest2017 As we begin this harvest year, I pray dear Lord, the weather stays clear. For when the snow flies, I'd hate to have to apologize, For the words one may say, If the combines have to come out again, next May. #farmhard

Man, I don't even know what to say amymore. We are having a blast touring these farms. It's so fast paced. We don't have enough time! Between all the food, coffee, and random vendors.... FARM OVERLOAD! Anyways, here is Down to Earth Farms! This farm has it all. Fresh cut flowers, veggies, chickens, turkeys, and pigs. I first met this farmer at the Duval County Agriculture Extension office when they held a farming panel for people interested in starting their own farm. I do believe I'll be working closely with both this farm and the one I posted before. Each of them are within 15 min drive from the flagship plot. Hope you enjoy the farm overload today because I sure am! Lol
First up on the tour is Urban Folk Farm out off Normandy blvd! The first thing I noticed were these gigantic 300' beds. I think Julie counted 30 that were planted. Easily another 20 300' beds ready to be planted. This farm reminded me of my mentors farm because of the uniformity within the farm. With that uniformity comes the ability to calculate every aspect of the farm to make a more lean and efficient process. We also got to see their nursery, the herb garden, their greenhouse, and the chicken coop. So here are the pics. Enjoy! More to come later!
First cell phone. We used to call them our "radio". We loved Nextel, but the world is probably a better place without farmers at the restaurant table yelling into their two way radios about things most people can't relate to yet begin to understand the terrible audio quality only a seasoned nextel vet developed the ear for. #chirpchirp#nextel#farmhard
