Last weekend we were in my hometown visiting with my parents and family at my families dairy farm. Every time we do this, I'm amazed and in awe of something that's so simple yet easily forgotten. As dairy farmers we all have different practices, we all have different barns, different milking facilities, grow different crops, we even feed our animals slightly different feeds, but at the end of the day we all farm because we love our animals and enjoy providing milk for your kitchen table.
We also enjoy sharing our farm and life with people that don't farm, like many of you. We want you and them to understand our life and our farms. Many of my family members do not live on a farm yet they get to see a new calf stand for the first time, they get to watch the cows being milked and they get to feed the calves bottles of milk. While, you might not get to experience that first hand, I like to share those experiences with you. By sharing our life with you we can show you our farming practices and how much we care for our cows.
