Hooray for Currants at the Farmers Market today ❤️ From early June through August, these little beauties are at their flavorful peak! They’re bright and tart, almost like cranberries but sweeter. Try them out in muffins, pies, scones, cakes, parfaits, tarts, jam, a crumble 🥧🍰🎂 or my FAVE, frozen whole and added to lemonade, water, seltzer and cocktails 🍹🍹🍹
It’s a little more sparse than the other chicken paintings, but it was just TOO HOT yesterday! All the girls were panting and I couldn’t concentrate. I did manage to get some more video footage, some behind the scenes work that will be uploaded later today. Thanks to everyone who has subscribed so far! User name is Heatherihn . . . . .

A fun & easy cold summer soup, this tomato, peach, apricot #gazpacho has seasonal farmers market finds as well as garden grown ingredients. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is a great recipe for when you don’t feel like turning on the oven & it’s actually better the next day, when the flavors have had time to meld. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Funnily enough, @annstreetstudio 💕 just posted a similar gazpacho, rather more sophisticated, which also incorporates melon, garlic confit & lemon. Sounds like a divine recipe, especially if you are feeling a bit more ambitious! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tomato-Peach-Apricot Gazpacho with Tarragon⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ •Three to four large heirloom or otherwise delicious tomatoes •Equal amount to tomatoes of peaches and/or apricots • Three to four Persian or pickling cucumbers, peeled • Half a medium red onion • Two cloves of garlic • A good handful of fresh tarragon • 1/4 to 1/2 cup of red wine vinegar (to taste) • 1/2 cup of good evoo • Fine sea salt and fresh ground black pepper ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Roughly chop all veggies and tarragon and throw into blender, then add olive oil, half the vinegar, lots of black pepper and salt. Whiz around until you have a rough purée & then taste for seasoning. - Adjust olive oil, vinegar, salt & pepper as needed and give one more turn in the blender until you have a texture that is a bit smoother but not too creamy. - Remember that since this gazpacho is served cold, you will need to increase the flavorings a bit more than you would for a hot soup. - Chill the gazpacho for at least a couple of hours or overnight⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sprinkle with some additional freshly chopped tomatoes & cucumber, chopped parsley or lovage, & maybe some flaked sea-salt on the side. . . #farmersmarketfresh#heirloomtomatoes #coldsoup #growwhatyoueat#marvistafarmersmarket#thekitchn#growmoremagic#frommygarden#makemoments#heresmyfood#onmytable #eatmoremagic #huffposttaste #seekthesimplicity#hocsupperclub#hautecuisines #thesunsetkitchen #sosavory #feedyoursoull #sunsetmag #livemoremagic #saveurmag#FeastOnLA #lifeandthyme#gardendesignmag#hautescuisines#whpclassic
