FAREWELL - Umang Mohnot
I believe some people are born on this planet,
To distribute more love than they will ever receive,
That they could go through a thousand famines,
If that would bring you a lavish meal.
They don't wear their emotions on their sleeves.
In fact, they hold up their hearts high in the sky,
For everyone to see,
Like Rafiki held up Simba,
Showing him off to allies and foes alike.
They hold up their hearts high in the sky,
An open invitation for whoever is looking,
To come and get a piece of it - it can break into millions of pieces anyway.
In a fair world you could say,
That just like an eye for an eye,
A heart deserves a heart,
But this world is barely fair,
Using the yin-yang concept as the fuel for its engine.
While someone is receiving all the love there is,
Someone else is giving it all up,
To keep the balance intact.
It's just how this world functions.
So when you take a massive chunk of my heart
And manhandle it,
I don't bother much.
Just another name
In this long list
Of unpaid dues.
Just another farewell
With no promise of a reunion.
