Thankfulness Photo Project Day 16: Today's theme is Baking. My mom taught me how to bake and cook when I was a little kid and I've always enjoyed doing. Most years I go a little overboard with the holiday baking and when I was in college it was a great stress reliever during finals week. Since Mom has been asking me for the last week or so to make some pumpkin bread I decided to make some tonight for the NAMI Cobb potluck I was invited to attend. Originally the plan was to take photos of the process but as I was getting the stuff out I got surprise assistant, my 8 year old nephew asked if he could help. We used to bake stuff together when he was younger but as he's grown up over the last few years we've ended up spending less time doing things together so when he asked to help I jumped at the chance. It was a lot of fun, and he ended up doing most of the work while I took photos and helped him when he needed it. Also gave us a chance to do math together and help him understand fractions a little better. We both had a lot of fun tonight and I was thankful he was willing to let me take photos while we made the pumpkin bread together. Have to admit it turned out really good too.
