@Regrann from @loveisrevolution - @Regrann from @plantlifeveganfoods - Do you practice oil pulling?
Oil Pulling isn't necessarily a new practice, but newer to the western part of the world.
Oil Pulling is the swishing of oil in the mouth for about 20 minutes. Coconut oil is the most common oil used, sesame oil can be used as well. Oil pulling is beneficial to overall oral health. It cleans the mouth, has the ability to reverse cavities, and whitens the teeth.
In my household, the entire family oil pulls. To make it easy, and convenient, I make oil pull chews and store them in the refrigerator in a glass jar.
To make oil pull chews, you will need:
1 cup Coconut oil, melted (or oil of choice)
Ice cube tray or silicon mold
Glass jar or plastic container
2-3 tbsp *Activated Charcoal Powder (natural whitener)
10-15 drops *Essential oils (peppermint or clove)
Add coconut oil, charcoal powder, and essential oil, if using to a mixing bowl. Mix well and pour into ice cube trays or silicon molds. Freeze for about 20 minutes. Pop out of the trays or molds, cut in half for smaller portions. Store in glass jar or container in the fridge.
To use: Chew until liquifued and swish around for 20 minutes. Spit out in the trash can (coconut oil will clog pipes). Follow with brushing and flossing.
If you want to start this practice yourself, or with your children, start off with 3-4 minutes initially, working your way up to 20.
