Pea Protein Isolate, Expeller Pressed Canola Oil, Refined Coconut Oil, Water, Yeast Extract, Maltodextrin, Natural Flavors, Gum Arabic, Sunflower Oil, Salt, Succinic Acid, Acetic Acid, Non-GMO Modified Food Starch, Cellulose From Bamboo, Methylcellulose, Potato Starch, Beet Juice Extract (for color), Ascorbic Acid (to maintain color), Annatto Extract (for color), Citrus Fruit Extract (to maintain quality), Vegetable Glycerin.
Pea Protein "Isolate" is an isolated set of molecules from peas -- or shavings, powder disregarded peas milled, dehydrated and textured. -- Canola oil is man made and the "canola" cannot be found in nature and can't be organic as you may see pretty often.
The coconut oil refined or "stripped" of any true value,...so it's basically a caking agent at cool temperatures and touted as "healthy" because it's coconut oil -- truly it's simply a saturated fat with no benefit to it being coconut oil.
Yeast extract is still yeast -- though said to be an "extraction" to signify a lesser than normal amount its still only the 5th ingredient making it's volume significant.
Maltodextrin is a starch that is absorbed into the blood stream relatively quickly..and is equal to a sugar which makes the sugar content look like less than it really is.
Natural Flavors is just a really tricky way to hide ingredients that are claimed to be secret seasonings or intellectual property of the recipe....but can include lab developed flavorings of whatever they want pretty much. These ingredients are protect by patent laws. Sorry no lookie here... Gum Arabic is a coagulant. ANY kind of gum can do exactly what it's name proposes in the digestive system. This ingredient is just the beginning.
From there it just gets worse....all you have to do is read the remaining ingredients and be honest with whether or not they sound like food for your body...or the ingredients for a science kit for kids.#blackhealthmatters #fakefood #vegan #rawvegan #plantbased #melanindiet
