This week we interviewed Choki Wangchuk, our F & B attendant and one of the faces you are sure to remember when you visit us in Bhutan.
What does happiness mean to you?
Happiness does not come from the environment, it does not come from ourselves, or from one particular person. Happiness comes from many different places, but it is always here for me.
What is one of the happiest times in your life?
When I finished my course at Trongsa in language, culture, and Buddhist studies, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do next. I had never worked in hospitality, but my brother convinced me to apply for a position at Gangtey, this was my first real job and I have been here since. This brings me much happiness.
Why do you believe Bhutan is such a happy place?
We are thankful for our forefathers, our Kings, and our country. We are only a small country but due to our Buddhist practice and activities we are believing in the good way, and this brings us together.
What are you most grateful for?
To my parents for giving me such a precious life.
