A group this morning, we were talking about believing that we could get to target, believing that we could get to the weight we wanted, believing in ourselves. It got me thinking this afternoon about how to help people believe they can get to target, which I do agree is what's needed to get there. I think that we just need to believe we can make good choices for one meal. That's all we need to believe. If we believe that we can make healthy choices for our next meal, if we do it consistently (or more times than we don't), we'll eventually get to our goals. Maybe I'm over simplifying it, but I think we need to focus on the short term rather than the long haul.
When I joint I can remember sitting in group thinking that I'd never get to target and I wasn't sure how other people did. I made a decision at that time that I could diet long term, it was just too big a mountain for my tiny brain to deal with! So I dieted for 6 days sticking to plan for those 6 days and gave my self permission to have whatever I wanted after weigh in. That seemed manageable. But i remember some weeks being really long. So maybe a better tactic is a day or a meal. Small steps are mentally easier. It's what I need to do the moment. So that is the plan for next week. One meal at a time. I'm going to post every meal all week too, as I find Sharing what I've had helps. So yes a bit of meal prep tomorrow and let's see how much better next week is ❤️
