Finding yourself 🌻(Part 2)
I think most horse people have heard of the saying that states a horse is a mirror of your soul. Look deep into the eyes of a horse and you will eventually see a mirror. They have the beautiful gift of walking through life in the now. Where they stop to breathe out, run, escape predators and enjoy every moment for what it is.
There are so many training techniques available that it can confuse the best of us. We can often be met with judgement if we don't follow a certain form. As I've stated many times before, I do whats best for Monashee. If that means we spend an hour in the paddock with him eating while I enjoy the deep relaxation of the birds singing around me, so be it. In the end we are often tested in life in ways we never imagined. Some of us cruise on through without a scrape to your knee. Others get knocked down & given challenges that would rather not be received.
It's here in that fine balance of life where you start to get a feeling for who you are. What you believe in. What sets you free of anxiety and your fears. Yet often people can carry fears & self doubt for years. For their entire lives. Imagine that you've never taken the deepest breath you could & delved into the depth of what life has to offer you.
I chose to ignore the negative people. The opinions of those I didn't respect or wanted to hear. I chose to commit to as much groundwork that was needed so that Monashee realized he was free. Free of the ways of the past. You don't need to be dominant to communicate with your horse. You don't need to be dominant in life in general. Imagine a horse that would rear at his own shadow. Now imagine a person experiencing a panic attack. It takes small steps to understand & acknowledge how to move forward. The world literally reopened for Mon within the first month of bringing him home. The world grabbed me & forced me to listen. To remove the self doubt. To stop comparing. Remove judgement & introduce kindness like it was a drug.
If you wake up every day fearful ask yourself why. If you are swallowed whole by self doubt ask why. What is stopping you to be the best that you can be. What is it?
