Why Max Effort?

Max Effort (1RM), is safer method to increase strength than high rep max effort work (5-10 reps)

Volume:
3x10 = 30 repetitions
1x1 = 1 repetition
Which is safer?
1 total rep applying maximum effort and muscle tension, or 30 reps that iduce fatigue and breakdown of form?

Think about a squat like bouncing a basketball. When you bounce a basketball, the first bounce has the most force, then every bounce after that loses force and moves in different directions.
Same thing occurs wth a squat. You are able to produce greatest force with the first squat; force production and muscular coordination decrease and the risk of injury increases with each sequential rep after the first squat rep.

One squat with poor form (i.e., rounding your back) is only ONE BAD REP. When 10 squats with BAD FORM are performed, then your chance of INJURY INCREASES while you should be focusing on raising your maximal strength.

Hold battle rope handles in each hand about shoulder-distance apart, elbows at sides. Slam ropes side to side in an arcing motion, making sure to lift heels and pivot on the balls of feet. .
📝 I’m working on my moves and this shot doesn’t show me lifting my heels due to the short rope. Next time I’ll concentrate more. No one is perfect on their first try. Always keep going. You will get better, easier, and it will become FUN and you’ll feel like a badass!!

Getting more comfortable in an OHS position. I still have a tendency to get a lil’ toesy, but overall I was happy with these.

🏋🏻‍♂️Catching the ball improves stability. Your core must contract isometrically to brace and absorb the momentum of the ball•
🧠Improving torque will allow you to move your opponent, while improving stability will stop your opponent from moving you (torque also plays a major role in shooting, throwing, punching, etc)
🚨Quick note; even though I don’t post a lot of pure ab exercises, most of my exercises do involve a lot of core, just in coordination with other muscle groups. However, I recognize that many might be looking for pure ab exercises to incorporate into their training, so you can expect to see a lot more ab exercise in the near future!
