Most people will think of the ancient and awe inspiring giant Stone Circle when the name of Avebury is mentioned. Indeed the Prehistoric structure wraps itself around the much later village of thatched cottages. But find yourself walking just outside the circle and you'll discover a 16th Manor House sitting next door to the village church of St James. Step inside this place of worship and witness a remarkable surviving Saxon interior, 15th century Rood Loft and 12th century font.
