June the 6th MMXVII – Oscar[ito] / My Big Brother
It has always been so damn difficult talking to you, as the communication in our family is a huge problem. I never really knew you, except for a brief moment in our lives when we tried talking about our sentimental life, and I guess it didn’t work, cause we haven’t tried ever since.
So many memories of my big brother, the rock star who played music and made me want to play guitar. The cool brother, who had amazing friends that skateboarded, rode noisy bikes and loved me just cause I was your little brother.
The one I followed for almost all my childhood and adolescence, and the one I admired and wanted to look alike, talk alike, drive alike, think alike, etc. The one I want to look at, talk with, drive next to, and think with!
Nonetheless I have never had the courage to tell you face to face. I know, how weak, or how coward! I’m not that good with feelings, and we are not good with words.
Here’s my way of saying “Thank you” for being my big brother, the one who’s always there for me, the one who will always see a child in me, the one who’s still looking after me.
Today I’m proud to say that I’m walking beside you, not behind you,
I’m chasing my own dreams, because you taught me how to dream,
How to look at the sky and feel the wind blow,
Today I live for the music, thanks to your “The Bends” CD
Which made me fall in love with music and with Radiohead,
The first step on my never-ending quest for music,
Today I write to you a long due letter
As a thank you note
As a short story of our life together
As a way of honouring your devotion
To the annoying, little brother I’ll always be.
Hail to you, Big Brother!
