Thanking the new PADI instructor, (congrats 🎉) @yogiwei__ for this suit which I won from her “Why do you free-dive” writing contest to which I answered:

Before being born into air, sound, and color — we all lived in our mother’s watery wombs for 9 months. (We knew water long before we knew what was on land.) For me, free diving is an instinctual need to go back to our mother’s womb. Our bodies remember water, we crave submersion because in a way, it is like going home — a metaphor for being born all over again.

The sea is a place of undiscovered wilderness, but ironically it provides quiet solitude; it provides peace.

It’s the only escape I have from human folly.

Make it a point to learn and experience new things every now and then. Focus on your growth. Spend your hard-earned money not on material things, but on activites that will help you improve yourself. Swim. Surf. Cook. Hike. Camp. Volunteer. Go on retreats. Write. Paint. Whatever it is you have been wanting to try for so long, there's no better time to do it than now. 😉

Saint Paul Metropolitan Cathedral in Vigan, Philippines. It's a 16th century Cathedral boasting beautiful Spanish architecture.

How do you measure influence? I used to think that the likes and shares from posting content online determine how wide an impact is. But the truth is that not everything revolves around numbers.

Given the blog readership that I have, be it ten or even as small as one, there's joy in knowing that this handful of viewers aspires to BE better rather than to HAVE better.

Transform who you are on the inside. Wouldn't it be far more beautiful if we embrace the splendor in our flaws rather than run after the perfection we perceive from the world? Let's choose inspiration over imitation because the last time I checked, still, no one does you better than you. ❤

Just standing on some random rock.

📍 Lake Balinsasayao, Sibulan, Negros Oriental

Lake Balinsasayao is part of the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes National Park, one of the major tourist attractions in Negros Oriental. Swimming in the lake was allowed back then but since it became as one of the place's major source of water, such activity was discontinued. The lake offers the richest flora and fauna and remains a protected area.

Let's run to the beach and forget about everything.

We trekked around Capones Island and hiked all the way up for this elusive beauty. We were unprepared both for the exhausting high noon hike (we did not bring any drinking water at all) and the awesomeness of the view above the sea-surrounded hill. This is Capones Island Lighthouse, one of Zambales’ many hidden treasures.
