Today marks one month since I left home and came to Hong Kong to start a new adventure.

This month felt like an eternity — there were good days (most of them) and days I felt utterly miserable (especially the first week, when I didn't have a place to live, nor knew anyone yet). Lucky for me I had people back at home who gave me their support and encouraged me to keep pushing forward. (Thank you!!) Skip forward a few weeks and I'm all settled down, sorrounded by new, amazing people.

So, moral of the story — begginings are hardly easy, but after a while it will be worth it. 💪😉

#realtalk. Contrary to popular belief, our life in this insanely beautiful city of Florence is not always easy. Our family is miles and miles away, the winter is brutally cold, and I miss my dryer(and fluffy towels) immensely. But, even during the hardest of days @ryanbogosta makes all of it worth it. You are forever my soulmate, my favorite travel partner, and the only one who can eat pasta with me 2x a day without feeling guilty. And for you, I would move anywhere and do anything. I love you so much, Ry Guy. Thank you for making every day worth it. #lifeaintalwaysbeautifulplatesofpasta #butthepastaisdamngood #expatproblems

It is a sad, sad day. I just used the last pod of one of my favorite teas. Wouldn't be so devastating if I could just pop over to the store for more. 😋🍵 #therepublicoftea #oolong #expatproblems #firstworldproblems #tea

When the Sheng Siong supermarket has a special on dragon fruit but it turns out to be the far inferior white variety 😭😭😭 #Singapore #shengsiong #expatproblems #expatlife

Potts Point is named for Joseph Hyde Potts, who was employed by the Bank of New South Wales. He purchased six-and-a-half acres of harbourside land in an area then known as Woolloomooloo Hill – which he renamed Potts Point.⠀

Much of the area that today comprises Potts Point and the adjacent suburb of Elizabeth Bay, originally constituted part of a land grant to Alexander Macleay, who was the New South Wales Colonial Secretary from 1826 to 1837, and for whom Macleay Street is named. NSW Judge Advocate, John Wylde (for whom Wylde Street is named) was another 19th-century public servant who owned land in the area.⠀

What is now the Darling Point area was originally known as Eurambi, Yarranabbi, Yarrandabbi and Yaranabe by the local Aboriginal people. It was named Darling Point in recognition of Elizabeth Darling, the wife of New South Wales Governor Ralph Darling.⠀

✌🌃 Down by the river. It seems strange to us that somewhere like this can be so full of life and not at all scary. I'm not trying to slate the UK or anywhere else, but in Korea there's such a sense of safety which you don't get at home. I say this every time we are out, but if you came across a dark bridge near a river at home.. what would be your first thought? That some chavs or scallys would be hanging around right? Well 80% of the people down by any river in Korea are old men and women! Using the outdoor gym equipment or meeting their friends. (The other night we saw a group of people doing aerobics to some dance music) I'm not saying it's 100% safe all of the time but there's definitely a sense of security...we have to remember to keep our guard up when travelling to other places & when we get home!
