The Eczema Diet.
I have found lots of research regarding diet and lifestyle in relation to eczema, which i will share in upcoming posts.
But this book, was my saving grace.
When i read up on this book and author Karen Fischer, I trusted the content to be evidence-based as Karen herself is a Nutritionist, with a Bachelor of Health Science Degree, a nutrition diploama and is a member of the Australian Traditional-Medicine Society.
Karen has used her research skills to search through the scientific literature to find evidende based associations between nutrition and eczema.
This was because she herself had suffered with skin conditions and her daughter began suffering with eczema at 2 weeks old, which only got progressively worse.
When Karren started to apply the knowledge she had aquired to herself and her daughter, the eczmea cleared.
The Eczema diet book contains both a diet plan to follow and the science justifying the diet requirments.
The diet works by eliminating many potentail triggers, majority of which I was clueless about. Once the eczema has cleared, foods are slowly reintroduced to identify which are your triggers.
This is more extensive then any typical elimination diets i have come across, and the success eczema suffers have had by following this plan is outsanding.
Like i have said, i am not sponsored. But i am passionate about this as it has worked for me and as i am studying Nutritional Sciences i can confirm the recommendations in this book are based on solid evidence.
