A short brief about recent reports of #FSA related fighters who joined Syrian Regime
Recently some news spread about merging of some FSA groups to Regime Army in #EuphratesShield liberated areas, but too exaggerated by some.
First, locals reported that some checkpoints north of al-Bab city are abusing people & demand ransom. Those checkpoints were run by Abu al-Kheir (right pic), a commander of Sultan Murad Brigade.
After that security forces dispatched to scene and clashes erupted. Abu al-Kheir and his loyal fighters then fled to #YPG territories and joined regime from there.
These forces were responsible of many recent robberies in these liberated areas.
We also reported of low security, robberies and car bombs in Euphrates Shield liberated areas before.
Another fled commander, was Abu Ali Reslan (left pic) who a lot of propaganda spread about his ties with #Turkey but in reality he only got support from Turkish individuals not from the Turkish state.
When he arrested by FSA Sham Front forces, his loyal followers freed him in a special operation.
The criticism of Turkey’s government is that they didn’t do anything serious to arrest him.
After that he & his followers joined regime.
they are now talking against turkey in favor of the regime but their past is full of pretentiously cheers for turkey.
It’s also clarified now that Abu al-Kheir from Sultan Murad was negotiating with regime for his defection since about year ago.
He and his loyal fighters also never fought against ISIS or YPG and covered their intentions by spending behind front lines.
Also about number of defected fighters, too much exaggeration spread by some accounts.
most reports claim of about 30-60 defected fighters although we see even much less in their published video announces their defection to regime (video’s link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tkCf-FZgRzg&feature=youtu.be) that shows around 15 fighters.
For now, Turkish trained local police is working well to make life harder for those spies who may try to make sabotages & chaos again.
