We are thrilled for this senior's family: his pair of gallery wrap canvases will complete their fabulous wall display in their newly designed living room, hanging alongside his two other siblings', and enjoyed with his Keepsake Album, custom graduation announcements, and matted archival prints.
Several incredible wedding vendors made the trek to Detroit Lake for an unforgettable styled wedding editorial this weekend. This week before Spring Break will be filled with beauty, including editing the editorial images, and finalizing this gorgeous senior's keepsake order.
I love grabbing inspiration from nature especially plants and flowers and what's in season to incorporate into each session. These seeded eucalyptus leaves are such a small detail but help tell a bigger story.
What an incredible summer it has been! Between capturing couples say "I do," documenting women's beauty to enjoy with their loved ones, and connecting with incredible community members, we are also enjoying quality time with our families in the sunshine! Our go-to summer evening activity as of late? Disc golf!
What has been the summer highlight for you so far?
Day dreaming of this gorgeous field of wild flowers today! I love when my clients choose locations that are meaningful or personal to them, because it makes their sessions so much sweeter! This cute little family chose to have their location on the property of a dear family friend, and I just love how all of these images turned out!
We're headed off to spend Easter with family, so I'll be out of the office until Monday! If you're waiting on an email response from me, I'll get back to you as soon as the holiday is over! . And in case you missed it, Spring Mini Sessions have been moved to May 6th! Couples, families, maternity, etc all welcome! Send me a message to book your time slot. Spaces are limited!
One client's order is prepared for pick-up, another client's Ordering Session slideshow and album spreads are finalized, and finally, materials are set out for two other wedding and boudoir consults. The only thing left to do is prep the gear for this weekend's portrait sessions.

It is Small Business Saturday, and a bit of story time:
After completing my Master's of Arts coursework at Oregon State University over 10 years ago, landed my first full-time teaching job at Monroe School District. (I look back to the two years spent there and smile--the impact my students left on me is indescribable.) After a successful recruitment to Jefferson School District, I taught there for several years, leading my High School Jazz and Concert bands to many high achievements (the most notable being a 1st place finish at the OSAA State Competition). However, there was a tug on my heart to take a different path. Eventually, I said goodbye to Jefferson and hello to Eugene, and shortly thereafter, took on new opportunities--the most relevant today being my business: Heather Mills Photography. From performing arts to visual art, my passion for creativity, story-telling, and inspiring work was reignited. Several years have passed, and this year alone 20+ weddings, 15 boudoir sessions, and almost 50 others (most especially my other specialty: family portraits), have filled 2016 with many celebrations. And you, my friends, family, and clients, have been part of what has led me here today--celebrating yet another Small Business Saturday. Your stories, your own passions for your loved ones, and your value for fine art portraits has had an imeasureable affect. To each of you, my sincerest thanks.
