I'm so honored to be invited by the Vancouver Aquarium to the 2017 National Philanthropy Day Luncheon at the Vancouver Convention Centre this past Thursday! This is a yearly event where individuals/organization volunteers, leaders, fundraisers, philanthropists, and youths --- those that have made a difference in our community are recognized and celebrated.
Going in, I knew this event would be something that touches my heart, but the magnitude of inspiration I ultimately received is not something that I can put into words. Congratulations once again to all the nominees and award winners. Thank you for teaching us that there IS good in the world and that with positive intention and a heart of selflessness, ANYONE can make a difference!
Thank you to Dr. David Suzuki and Severn Cullis-Suzuki for your inspiring speeches. Growing up, I've seen many clips of Dr. Suzuki and you taught me how and why we need to be environmentally conscious. Because of you, I recognize that we only have one home, and it is called Planet Earth. We must protect this beautiful place with all our might. As I continued my education, I took courses in sustainability (which includes farming haha), and eventually dived into animal science and welfare. It is not an exaggeration to say that without Dr. Suzuki, I really may have chosen another path in my education. 🌿
Thank you once again to @vanaqua for this incredible opportunity. I'm always so humbled when staffs tell me how my chubby blush whales are "loved by everyone". I never expected them to be so well received--- ahhhh!! ♥️ As for their availability, I think they should be displayed in early December? We had planned to not immediately sell them yet so that if some of you are thinking about holiday shopping, they'd be available then! .
P.S. Just for this holiday season, TWICE the amount of chubby whales was made! Think of all the seal pups we are feeding!!!!! 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
