What does your skin care routine look like? At this stage of my life, I consider taking the time for my skin as “me time”, like my self care. It’s amazing what you take for granted before you have other people to take care of. That being said, I want to be intentional in taking care of my skin. I ain’t no spring chicken anymore and you can never start treating your skin well soon enough. Since I’m on mat leave I only wear make up once or twice a week. Even though I wear minimal make up to begin with, it has been so nice to just let my skin breath completely. If I saw myself now, before having children I may have thought “she has let herself go!”, but that is far from the truth. Post children I have simply, yet slowly, become more comfortable in my own skin. Don’t get me wrong, like most women, I love when make up can “enhance” my natural beauty and I enjoy getting “dolled-up” for special occasions but I now feel that it is just not necessary for the everyday. I am enough. Accept me as I am. Make up is fun, but, let us as women be intentional about not glorifying beauty as society defines it. I challenge you to focus on your inner beauty. Put away the facade, no need to hide behind the mask. Find your confidence with out it. It might not come naturally, but it’s worth it. YOU, as a woman, mother, sister, grandmother, daughter, as an example to younger women, YOU ARE WORTH IT.
