This Just In: Stephanie Rickard, the attorney for 49ers’ LB Reuben Foster‘s girlfriend, said in a statement to the Sacramento Bee that she initially lied to police and informed them that Foster did not injure her during the incident that occurred at his home in Los Gatos back in February. “(Foster) did not strike her, injure her or threaten her,” said Rickard.

She says Foster tried to end the relationship with her, which led to the fight. “She was extremely upset and told him if he broke up with her she would ‘trash his career,’” Rickard said.

According to Rickard, Foster’s girlfriend told local prosecutors that she wanted to recant but that the district attorney’s office filed charges anyway.

Foster is facing charges of domestic violence with an allegation that he inflicted great bodily injury, forcefully attempting to prevent a victim from reporting a crime, and possession of an assault weapon – all felonies. He was also charged with misdemeanor possession of large capacity weapon magazine. If convicted, he faces more than 11 years in prison.

It remains unclear what Foster’s next steps are, but the new evidence should result in all of his charges being dropped due to invalid information.
Foster, 24, is a former first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2017. He’s entering the second year of his 4-year/$9.03M contract and stands to make base salaries of $875K and $1.28M over the next two years of the agreement.

Stay tuned for more.

2018 NFL Draft: According to reports, the Green Bay Packers are “plotting” a potential trade up into the Top-10.
The Packers have a track record of staying put in the first-round, but new GM Brian Gutekunst has brought an aggressive philosophy since taking over football operations earlier this offseason.
Green Bay reportedly covets FSU S Derwin James and OSU CB Denzel Ward and would likely target one of those two players if the right opportunity presents itself.

If the Packers do trade up on Thursday, it would be their first opening-round trade since they moved up to get OLB Clay Matthews back in 2009.

Stay tuned for more.

The fifth-year option will cost the Falcons $14.2M for the 2019 season.

In 2017, Beasley started 14 games for the Falcons and recorded 29 tackles, five sacks, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.

2018 NFL Draft: According to reports, the Denver Broncos have received calls from teams interested in acquiring their 5th overall pick.
Broncos’ GM John Elway has been outspoken about his willingness to trade back if the right offer presents itself. There is growing belief that the Broncos will likely target a “win-now” player, instead of selecting a top quarterback prospect.
Unless USC QB Sam Darnold somehow falls to Denver at No. 5, the Broncos appear ready to take the best non-quarterback prospect on their board.
If one of the other top quarterbacks fall to their slot, the possibility of the Broncos trading down significantly increases.
Stay tuned for more.

2018 NFL Draft: According to reports, Ohio State C Billy Price (Torn Pec) has informed teams that he will be cleared for the start of training camp in late-July.
Price’s surgeon provided a statement for all NFL teams to confirm the report.
Price (6’4”, 305 lbs) suffered a partially torn pectoral muscle during the bench press drill at the scouting combine in Indianapolis.
He is projected to be a late-first/early-second round pick.

NFL News: According to reports, Free-agent WR Dez Bryant turned down a multi-year offer from the Baltimore Ravens.
When it was reported that Baltimore was in strong pursuit of Bryant, there was legitimate truth to that.
The Ravens offered Bryant a multi-year deal similar to the 3-year/$21M deal they gave Michael Crabtree, but he turned it down. Bryant is reportedly looking for a one-year deal worth a higher salary than what Baltimore was offering. He is hoping that he can have a productive enough season in 2018 that would allow him the opportunity to cash in on a richer deal next offseason.
In result, the Ravens turned the page on Bryant and ultimately signed Former Saints WR Willie Snead to a 2-year deal worth $10.4M.
Bryant, 29, will now wait to sign with a new team until after the NFL Draft.

2018 NFL Draft: According to reports, the Cleveland Browns have held several conversations with teams interested in acquiring their 4th overall pick.
While Dorsey mentioned that he had not received any “firm” trade offers for their No. 1 overall pick, it appears the same cannot be said about their 4th overall pick.
The Browns have fielded many trade offers for their No. 4 selection and would be open to dealing it for the right price.
Some teams to keep an eye on for acquiring Cleveland’s 4th overall pick include the Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins.
Stay tuned for more.

UPDATE: According to reports, Former Broncos RB C.J. Anderson is not expected to sign with a new team until after the NFL Draft.
The Broncos released Anderson on April 16th, which ended his five year stint in Denver. Since then, Anderson has reportedly garnered interest from at least eight teams, including the Miami Dolphins, who have been linked to him for quite some time.
With that being said, Anderson’s suitors will not offer him a contract until after the draft, which could limit his opportunities if they fill their need at the position over the weekend.
Anderson, 27, was entering the third year of his 4-year/$16.5M contract and was set to make a base salary of $4.5M over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2017, Anderson started all 16 games for the Broncos and rushed for 1,007 yards on 245 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with 28 receptions for 224 yards receiving and four total touchdowns.

Stay tuned for more.

One unnamed offensive coordinator does not believe Louisville QB Lamar Jackson can thrive as an NFL quarterback. "He's an awesome athlete. He will not be able to play (quarterback) in this league—mark my words," the offensive coordinator said. "When he throws, he hopes." Jackson (6’2”, 216 lbs) has taken backlash from many league executives for turning down their requests to workout as a wide receiver during the pre-draft profess. Jackson even went as far as not running a forty-yard dash to take the focus off his speed and ability to play other positions.
With the NFL Draft one day away, the 2016 Heisman winner intends to play quarterback for whichever team selects him.
Jackson, 21, completed 57 percent of his passes for 9,043 yards with 69 touchdowns and 27 interceptions in 38 career games at Louisville. He also added 4,132 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns on the ground.

2018 NFL Draft: According to reports, the Cleveland Browns have narrowed their choices down to Wyoming QB Josh Allen and Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield for their No. 1 overall pick.
After a lengthy and thorough pre-draft process, it appears GM John Dorsey and the Browns have finally identified two quarterback prospects they believe are worthy of being the top pick for their franchise.
It was reported on Tuesday that Mayfield was still being considered by the Browns and there is reportedly some legitimacy to that.
It’ll either be Allen or Mayfield that will hear their name called to kick things off at AT&T Stadium.
In addition, Dorsey confirmed to team reporters that they have not received any “firm” trade offers for their No. 1 pick, so all signs point towards them retaining the selection.
Stay tuned for more.

UPDATE: According to reports, Former Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is not expected to sign with a new team until after the NFL Draft.
Bryant has had a relatively slow market since being released by the Dallas Cowboys on April 13th. He received initial interest from the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and New Orleans Saints, but really hasn’t seen any movement since.
The Ravens are out of the running for Bryant after their signing of Former Saints WR Willie Snead, so that is one less suitor for the All-Pro wideout to consider.
Bryant, 29, was entering the third year of his 5-year/$70M contract and was set to make a base salary of $12.5M over the final two years of the agreement when Dallas released him in a move that freed up $8.5M of cap space.

In 2017, Bryant started 15 games for the Cowboys and caught 66 passes for 814 yards and six touchdowns.
Stay tuned for more.

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant is working out with Giants’ WR Odell Beckham Jr.
This is particularly interesting, considering Bryant’s interest in signing with the Giants.
To add fuel to the fire, the Giants saved $5.12M against the cap by releasing WR Brandon Marshall earlier today.
Giants GM Dave Gettleman was asked if he was interested in signing Bryant during his pre-draft presser and said, “We’re interested in everybody” and reiterated that all options are on the table. Does this video mean Bryant will sign with the Giants? Absolutely not, but it’s certainly something worth keeping tabs on.

Injury Update: According to reports, Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (ACL) is making significant progress in his rehab and expects to be cleared for the start of training camp.
Cook a former 2017 second-round pick, suffered a torn ACL in Week 4 vs. Lions and underwent season-ending surgery on October 9th.
Cook says he has trusted his rehab and believes his knee has responded well to the treatment. “It’s a process. It’s a journey,” Cook said, via quotes distributed by the team. “It is something that you have to trust yourself and know that you did everything in your power to get your knee back the way it is at. I attack this thing every day and I did what I needed to do to get to this point. I had no doubt when I first touched the field is where I wanted to be at.” Cook has done some work on the field since offseason workouts began April 16th, and Vikings athletic trainer Eric Sugarman said Cook has “knocked the rehab out of the park.” “He’s done great job,” Sugarman said. “He’s been here every day since the injury occurred, post-surgery and really hasn’t missed a beat. . . . He’s been here with a smile on his face every day. Really just to give him the credit because he’s put in all the work to get to the point to where he is.” _______________________________________________________
In four starts, Cook rushed for 354 yards on 74 attempts (4.8 YPC) and two touchdowns to go along with 11 receptions for 90 yards.

Stay tuned for more.
