Still erupting today, the Kīlauea lava flow in Hawaii has caused some serious destruction of land and property on its journey down to the ocean.
One of the most intense moments of my life was flying over the lava flow in a doors-off helicopter, hovering right beside a massive plume of steam, smoke and clouds. To see the extreme beauty and destruction all in one view really opened my eyes to the power of nature.
With no end in sight for the eruption, it’s important that the support network remains strong for the people who have been displaced by the lava. I’ve put a link to a donation page for a local Puna refuge and supply hub in my bio if anyone is keen to help out 🙏🏼
