A lot of you guys have been asking me what my goals are with Leah come 2019 and that’s a great question because I love talking about goal setting!
2017 • My first year at the FEI. This season was about survival. Surprisingly enough, it was our best competition season to date, but we were total rookies. We focused on “just making it through” the PSG and I1, getting our feet wet with the newly-introduced, rigorous movement sequences.
2018 • Our second year at the FEI. Successful, yes, but full of learning trials and tribulations along each stride. We scored high, we scored low, we scored everything in between. We competed in our first CDI, rode our first I1 Freestyle, and made our first trip to the US Finals. This year was about becoming comfortable at the I1 tests and gaining confidence in the show ring... and checking new experiences off our goal list.
2019 • If I’m being 100% honest, this will most likely (most likely, as in, not set in stone) be Leah’s last competitive year with me at the FEI. No one freak out - and to answer the question you’re going to ask, I don’t have any imminent plans of bringing another horse into my life, Leah is perfectly healthy and sound, and she’s not retiring anytime soon, nor will she EVER leave me - so take a breath! Next year will be centered around pushing the limits and taking risks in the show ring. We have nothing to lose, everything to gain. I’d like to qualify for regionals at PSG, I1 and the I1 Freestyle with intentions of going back to Kentucky come November!
It’s going to be a great 2019, I feel it in my bones and we can’t wait to continue to share our journey with each of you! ♥️ #GoalSettingForTheBlondeAndTheBay
