So I guess I’m a bread baker now? My first loaf using my sourdough starter - 1/3 @thrivemkt sprouted white whole wheat, 2/3 @kingarthurflour bread flour. There is nothing as delicious as warm, freshly baked bread. Pretty rewarding to get this from just flour water and salt 🙏🏻 next time more whole wheat, better scoring, darker crust 🍞 trying to make my starter mama proud @matthiasholmes @maddybr00ks

Action shot of breakfast at @holybellycafe. The hash brown pancake had barley in it, which was really cool. And the bread was from @dupainetdesidees (also cool because we went there earlier and it was closed)

Up til now, I’ve had only good things to say about @cupcakejemma - but I won’t lie, she and @julietsear made ice cream cookies look approximately 10000x easier than they are 😂 Very loosely inspired by their kawaii tutorial - except in my mind these are somewhere between cupcakes and ice cream sundaes in waffle bowls, and I suppose I’m just fine with that🍦I’m determined to love them, imperfections and all!

Thoughts on fruit in salad? 🤔 It can be very divisive... a bit like pineapple on pizza. I, for one, am a fan. I think it adds a sweet touch. Here I’ve got a spinach, green bean, feta, mint, pecan and strawberry salad. It was berry good! 🍓🍓 #getyourmaninthekitchen

This Tuna Ikan Eighth Bastion Indian-Indonesian fusion dish uses chilli, lemongrass, peanuts and galangal and was my favourite starter! It looks simple but has several steps to achieve it's deliciousness.
Tuna Ikan
Ingredients:
For the Tuna Steak
Tuna steaks 400 gm
Chopped shallots 50 gm
Chopped garlic 25 gm
Chopped red chilly deseeded` 25 gm
Sesame oil 25 ml
Peanut butter 25 gm
Salt & pepper To need
Lime leaves shiffonade 4-5 leaves
Galangal chopped 25 gm
Lemongrass chopped 25 gm
Sambal paste 10 gm
Turmeric powder Little
Coconut milk as needed
For the Salad
Slices onion 50 gm
Raw papaya sliced 50 gm
Crushed peanut 10 gm
sesame oil To need
Seasoning To need
Shredded spinach a little
Coconut milk To need
For the topping
Dark soya 10 ml
Light soya 10 ml
Sweet soya 5 ml
Chopped ginger 3 gm
Chopped coriander leaves 3 gm
Chopped spring onion 3 gm
Sesame oil 5 ml
Vinegar To need
Seasoning To need
Method:
Marinate the tuna steaks with salt and pepper only. Keep it aside.
Mix the remaining ingredients( under the heading tuna steak) , and make crush using a blender.
Heat little oil and sauté the crushed ingrediets for awhile. Keep aside.
For salad, mix all ingredients together and serve.
For topping, reduce the dark, light and sweet soya together.
When it become thick , add sesame oil and vinegar. Cook for a while.
Add remaining all ingredients and remove from fire. Check seasoning.
