Sandy and I, along with 8 other mountain bikers set off on Saturday am in Glasgow to attempt the GT24 (West Highland Way and Great Glen Way, back to back) challenge. It was the first time Sandy had attempted such a big route, and I wasn't sure pace-wise if we'd be a match. However, I'm so proud of @j0nny_turbo for getting some good training in and sustaining a good pace which meant we got to ride together. Its always a treat to have company on a long ride, but felt extra special to be embarking on such an epic with my bae.
What could have been short garage fuel stops en route turned into sit in, relaxing datey dinners and coffee stops and, by the time we made it to Fort William (28 hours in), the lure of hopping on the bus to Inverness got the better of us. Great weekend though, and so happy to be recovered in time for work.
A massive, massive well done to the legendary @jennygrahamis_ who completed in record time WITH a major mechanical along with several other riders who smashed the challenge!
Until next year GT24...
