Hello, I'm a kid who's interested in taxidermy and here to explain why furfarms aren't bad. (I might make a post on hunting later.) Furfarming is the act of killing an animal for its fur, just like the meat industry does for meat. Furfarming is ethical, contrary to mosts belief and is good for the environment. > How do furfarms kill animals? Furfarms electrocute foxes leaving in a quick and painless death, the same is done too your poultry, pigs and other edible meats. Furfarms kill mink using a movable unit with carbon monoxide inside, the mink are place inside and become unconscious and pass, painlessly. Both of these ways have been researched and have been found to be the most efficient and are legally regulated.
> On the topic of legal regulation, furfarmers in the USA have a set of code that their furfarm has to follow or else they will be shut down. Plus, why would the animals be given little care, beaten, skinned alive etc? That is illegal along with illogical. The furfarmers make money off of the fur quality. A beaten, bloody, holed, and scruffy piece of fur would sell for low instead of something clean, soft and sleek. > What do the farmers do with the animals' body? Furfarmers use the rest of the body in a number of ways. Mink oil is used for leather as a conditioner, mink oil can be used as a bio-fuel, it can also be used in beauty products and sun lotion. The rest of the minks' carcass is biodegradable and will be used as fertilizer, along with any waste it produced. With fox meat it is often used in pet food and fertilizer. >Why are mink/foxes kept in cages? It has been researched countless ways but the cages at their size are currently deemed to fit the animals needs as best as possible; there was once a furfarm who did have larger enclosures and let the animals mix upon themselves but that lead to mass disease and fighting within the animals and the furfarm shut down because of how unproductive it was.
That's a few of the points i have. I couldn't cover everything but if you have questions feel free too comment or dm me. Those who just want to argue or prove their point will promptly be blocked. I will only talk to those who have an open mind

The ISPCA, and Respect for Animals, both of which are members of #FurFreeAlliance, are today highlighting the need for a ban on fur farming in Ireland.
An October 2018 opinion poll showed 80% of the Irish public agree that farming and killing of animals for their fur in Ireland should be banned.
Mink are essentially wild animals and not suited to be kept in tiny, barren wire cages and bred intensively in fur farms simply for luxury fashion items. Visit http://ispca.ie/furfreeireland for more information about the welfare, environmental and ecological issues associated with fur farming in Ireland.

đŸ˜ĄđŸ˜«#jennyfromthebutcherblock This is one celebrity i cant support. Simply unacceptable that in 2018 she still insists on contributing to the agony of beautiful innocent endangered animals skinned alive just so she can look “cool” when all it does is make her an apathetic selfish vain indifferent uncool useless human. #stopwearingfur #endfurfarming #jlo #stopanimalcruelty #nofur #banfurtrade #jlofur #stopwearingfur
