Being a member of the e7: banat al emarat - Daughters of the Emirates program has been one of the most amazing experiences and truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. .
The role of us بنات was to execute a project to impact a minimum of 20 people. We chose the pillar of “Opportunities for the less fortunate”. We resonated with this pillar as we believe we could help the domestic construction workers 👷🏻♂️
The main objective of our project was to help laborers save money by buying their groceries for them in order to save money and send it back home. We mainly targeted workers who earned between AED500-800. .
As per our surveys monthly grocery items that laborers spend on come up to AED150-320. We targeted 30 laborers and help them save AED7,500 collectively!
Items included shampoo, soap, cooking oil, fruits, vegetables, rice, flour, etc. .
This is just the beginning we plan to make it a monthly event, where we give the laborers a Starter Kit at the beginning of every month. .
