Writing post-Mother's Day and at the cusp of the New Moon, I feel the time is ripe for valuing our/my/your deep psychic grounds.
What's this like?
Well, it's a recognition of what has mattered to heart, body, spirit, and soul since before we entered the world of verbal language.
It's remembering; it's feeling what we know when we are recalled here; knowing what we feel. It's a practice of the depth psychological idea (which I hold) that before social constructs, we are psychically created beings. That we find our ground through psyche/soul and imagination. That flesh and mother and mater, material, and the Earth dream and are always dreaming through us.
In this way, ground, Earth, the materiality of our lives, our mother stories, all things MMMmmmmm are always moving and alive. (Note: This is something different than stuck, sinking, literal, or fixating types of grounding imaginary–what does THIS feel like?) When valued and invited in, soul invites us home to ourselves.
Ways of reaching psychic ground: • Whatever your relationship is/was/has been with the/a mother figure in your life, give yourself a 10 minute free-write on what you have always known to give deep value to that you've learned from her. Once you've found this nugget, polish it and carry it into your week, noticing what it's like move through your life with more awareness of this inner gold. • Come to Bodystorm! THIS Tuesday, May 15th. Bodystorm Women's Council is a talking circle like no other. You are welcomed into this open and safe space for the full complex beauty of living through the female anatomy and in relationship to all notions of woman. Come as you are.
