The bread I like to use when my calories are a little lower is the β€œlight” bread from village hearth. 2 slices is 17g of carbs. Usually regular bread, each slice is around that. So it’s a great carb saver. Plus it adds some fiber to your diet πŸ‘πŸ»

Get shit done! Started a new program today and we started with a bang. Awesome lift tonight, followed by 15 min of cardio. Going to slowly incorporate more cardio day by day. Also going to manipulate my diet a bit. Time to tighten up πŸ˜Žβ˜€οΈ

I also wanted to take this post to talk about a subject I’ve heard brought up a lot lately, since most people want to lean up for the summer. The myth about higher reps to tone and lose fat is still going around. When it comes to cutting up, it all comes with diet and cardio. Don’t switch up the routine that you had to BUILD MUSCLE, keep doing it. In fact during my last contest prep a lot of my movements were in the 4-6 rep range, and I was still losing fat day by day. Keep training heavy and in hypertrophy, that’ll help you keep the muscle you have during your caloric deficit. High reps have their place, just like anything, but to β€œtone up” and β€œburn fat” they do not. βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–

Killed chest on Saturday night. Not many exercises were done, but there was tons of volume. Chest has always been a weak point for me so I’ve been really trying to make it grow these past couple months. How to grow your chest is a very popular question so here are some tips I have for those who are trying to do the same.
1️⃣ Make sure you are progressing - focus on some main movements for the chest and make sure your are overloading the muscle on those movements. Keep track of your workout if you have to. Overtime you should be progressing wether it’s reps, sets, rest, weight etc.
2️⃣ incline movements - anatomically speaking there’s only the pectoralis major (and minor), there’s no upper pec, mid pec, lower pec and so forth. Different angles though can put an emphasis on one area of the pectorals major. When it comes to chest, many bodybuilders can always use more β€œupper chest” as it gives you that shelf look and just makes your chest look that much bigger and better. Focus on throwing in some incline movements such as inclines presses and fly. Just make sure the incline isn’t so great where it turns into an anterior delt exercises.
3️⃣FOOD πŸ—πŸ₯šπŸ³πŸ₯¦ make sure you’re eating enough calories and protein to support muscle growth. You can not outwork a bad diet. Don’t be afraid to eat BIG to get BIG. βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–

A fun finisher to throw in to finish of chest is the smith machine incline press. One of my favorite ways to do this is with FST-7. Seven straight sets with around 15-30 second rests. Give it a try your next workout and let me know what you think πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

Shoulder & arm night was a success. One of the better workouts I’ve had in a while. Took a scoop of @bpi_sports 1MR (Like usual) and went ham on the weights. Then had a nice sauna session right after πŸ”₯πŸ‘ŒπŸ»Also repping the OG @legendsofaesthetics stringer.. still one of my favorite stringers to wear and also reminds me when YouTube fitness had enjoyable content. 1️⃣Standing Overhead Press 4x6-8
2️⃣Arnold Press 2x15, 2x8 (bump weight up on last two sets)
3️⃣Tri-shoulder (lateral raise right to front raise right to rear del raise... burns like a 🀬) 3x12 on each.
4️⃣ Lateral Raise machine 3x20-12 (bump weight up on each set)
5️⃣ cable bicep curl 3x12-15 (for this one I used a machine at my gym that lets each arm work freely)
6️⃣ tricep rope extension 3x12-15

Throwback to the prep days! This was a few days after my competition, when all the treats were filling me out. Looking back on old pictures like this of when I was in contest prep makes me miss it. Oddly, I enjoy the cardio and diet when in prep for the most part. Don’t get me wrong, there are times when you just absolutely hate it and would rather stuff your face with pizza... but at the same time I enjoy the dedication and will power contest prep brings out. You learn a lot about yourself, and how bad you actually want the goals you laid out for yourself. As of right now, I am enjoying the offseason and making all kinds of gains. Not sure when the next time I’ll step on stage will be. Who knows πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

For example I wasn’t feeling this workout. I was going in to the gym dreading it. I was asking if it was even worth my time being here. I took some time to myself and focused on what I was hitting, what exercises, etc

Like I said above, mind set is everything. Visualize your goals. Think about how you are going to get there. Stay positive, stay hungry, and take action. Don’t let small things get in the way.
