Quick Thoughts (D.E.A.R.): issues 7-12 of Kill or Be Killed. Cover by: Sean Phillips. ▪ spoilers ahead ▪. Edward Brubaker developing the characters and story stays strong, as we get to know some of the supporting players a bit more. The police and mafia have advanced a bit in their search. There are still surprising / "oh fuck!!" moments in the series, where I keep thinking: "That's a terrible idea!!" or "The shit is gonna hit the fan later on..". All the issues in this series continue the story and characters. The 7th is one of my favorites so far: the character Kira is explored a bit more, presented in an excellent montage (or "montage") of photos and a therapy session. Dylan (main character)'s narrations continue to be engaging as well, not only recapping what's been happening, but also not falling into predictable territory. Take for instance when he describes why he killed to protect himself and Kira.
Dylan is definitely not a master mind or bad ass. It's captivating to see every step of his path, what he'll do next to keep himself hidden. Is he seeing a demon due to mental health? Is there really a demon? I say it has to be the first option. I'm looking forward to this story each month, the development of characters and what shock is gonna pop up next #EricStephenson #Comicsgram #EdBrubaker #ElizabethBreitweiser #SeanPhillips #InkedReality #EdwardBrubaker
