I remember taking this picture so clearly. I had just come home from a yoga class and was totally blissed out! ✨✨ I remember looking at it and thinking “Wow, I look so pretty when I’m happy and peaceful.” Side note: You should know that there is often a lot of not-so-nice self-talk that happens, but not that day. That day I saw the bliss in my eyes. My inner light was just shining through. Can you see it? Or just me?
In any case, this picture popped up in my “one year ago today” thingy on Facebook and it was kismet timing! You see, for the last 3 years I’ve been thinking about doing Yoga Teacher Training and I may have even told some of y’all about it. Something has always happened though...usually financially, which prevented me from actually signing up and executing & accomplishing this goal. But not now! Now I am speaking my goals into reality and I am telling you that Yoga Teacher Training is happening this Fall in Edwards, CO with the Colorado School of Yoga based out of Boulder. I applied last week and was accepted the next day. And I am SO SO excited!
I had the privilege to take a class with Gina Caputo at Wanderlust Snowmass in the summer of 2015 and I adored her! She will be one of my 3 teachers at this training and I just feel this is the right training for me. In teachers, schedule, cost, proximity...everything. Just perfect. And right on time! (As one of my favorite coaches, @jackicarr, so frequently says.) So why Yoga Teacher Training? Well in case y’all hadn’t noticed, I’ve had a few orthopedic issues since turning 35 👵🏼🙈 and as a result I feel so strongly called to gentle yoga for my daily movement and healing. Plyometrics and pounding the pavement just doesn’t work for me at this point in my life and so I’m honoring what my body is telling me. Given that I have a strong understanding of anatomy and I already work with people in a very hands on way, this feels like the next natural step to deepen my own yoga practice and ultimately teach in my own community serving those who (like me) have a history of injuries, surgeries or illnesses that they might feel limited by. I want to help make yoga feel accessible for them (continued in comments)..
