Entering the city, a strange sight had befallen the townsfolk. Two guards put away their bows and hurried over to disperse the crowd. I waited for them to pass by before approaching the scene. It was a dog, if you could call it that. An absence of any fur or real skin, and a recession where it's nose should be. Black all over, with red eyes like blood. It had claws and teeth sharp enough to cut you down. Yet it lay still, one arrow protruding from the top of its skull and another just below the shoulder blades. The two guards rushed over. "Citizen, please step away from.... oh, it's you. We caught this as it entered the city, before it could harm anyone. There was a vampire with it too, but he's.... well, underwater now." I looked round into the dark waters of the metalworks. Indeed, the figure of a man could be made out, drifting below the surface. "I've never seen anything like it." I muttered, genuinely astounded. "Nor have we. Someone's going to have to fish him out sooner or later." Leaving the guards to delegate between themselves, I made my way up to the Keep.
