My thankful Thursday goes out to all the Kinesiology students at California State University of Long Beach, the program itself (professors, advisors, the whole team!), and the participants at Park Pacific Tower's Seniors Community!!
Because of school, I was able to witness many awaken the giant within themselves (Tony Robbin's style). Seniors would come to our fitness program with goals such as to reduce medication use, to walk without a cane or walker, to be able to release pain, to move, dance, make friends and have fun. I have been blessed with the 2.5 years I was overseeing this program, to witness words turn into actions to make those goals a reality and way of living. These goals have been met multiple times by multiple participants: no more walkers, less medication use, and ease with activities of daily living, more laughs, smiles, and photos for memory. Thank YOU, from the bottom of my heart, to the collective effort each one of you put forth while we were together. 🌊GO BEACH!! 🤸♀️⛹️♀️🏄♀️🏊♀️🏋️♂️🧘♂️🧗♀️
Young or old; new or well-seasoned; exercise is medicine that can be used to improve our current state of being. Shout out to all the coaches, trainers, group instructors, students, athletes, teachers.. basicially everyone staying true to our professional values and drive to inspire the world to fitness!!
🔙 Swipe to see my picture with them today. Three ladies in the picture felt relief from low back pain after our session, which included:
5 minutes of breathing
Lower body mobility exercises: adductor, kossack, hip mob (3×20)
15 minutes of stretching and meditation
