Joy and sadness in the #shire. Yesterday I attended a session of IMUSE (Interactive Multi Sensory Enviroment). This new resource allows me to reach people in a meaningful way that previously it was difficult to reach. In particular those with intellectual disabilities and profound and complex needs. But far more important is the playfulness and joy IMUSE brings to its users. I saw smiles on faces which have only known pain. Please google IMUSE and see for yourselves the incredible difference this system can make not just PwLD's but to mental health, dementia, chronic pain. Today I attended the funeral of Lesley McNaughton, a friend and colleague who inspired us all with her love of life, her incredible commitment to improving the lives of others and celebrating life. Gone to soon with cancer. Each day brings us moments of joy and times of sorrow. This is life's gift, that there are no ordinary moments, no average people only this extraordinary journey that we are all on.
